EKN adjusts its policy for Argentina
EKN has decided to reopen its country cover policy for short-term transactions with companies in Argentina.
This means that Swedish exporting companies can once again apply for guarantees for transactions with Argentine companies, without the requirement for letters of credit or bank guarantees when the risk period is shorter than one year.
The decision is based on the fact that Argentina’s economy has taken gradual steps towards stabilisation. Import regulations have been simplified, lead times for currency exchange have shortened, and key economic indicators have progressively improved. Inflation has eased, the government’s budget balance has shifted from deficit to surplus, and market confidence has grown.
Despite this progress, significant risks remain. Several currency restrictions are still in place, and the market remains sensitive to unforeseen events. These factors are considered in EKN’s risk assessment.
