The project also includes pipeline delivering slurried mineral concentrate to the port and a water pipeline delivering raw seawater to the mining and processing facilities. The mine is located 1350 km north of Santiago 2000 m above sea level.

EKN has made a preliminary classification of the project as category A and conducts an environmental and social (E&S) due diligence of the project. The project’s preliminary key environmental and social risks relate to biodiversity and impact on local communities. EKN conducts Environmental and Social (E&S) due diligence of the project based on the ESIA. EKN is engaged in close dialogue with involved parties to ensure that risks are managed in line with international standards.
