Transmission line project, USA
The Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) is considering providing guarantees for parts of the supply of equipment to the Champlain Hudson Power Express transmission line project.
The project involves construction of an approximately 540 km long high-voltage buried transmission system, which also include a converter station, from the U.S.-Canadian border to New York City in the USA. The main purpose of the project is to provide electrical energy from Canada to New York City metropolitan area.
The project has a preliminary classification as category A. Environmental and social information about the project is available in the following web link:
EKN conducts an environmental and social due diligence of the project based on the available environmental and social impact assessment.
The information was published on EKN's website www.ekn.se on February 25th 2022. Comments on the transaction can be submitted within at least 30 days. This procedure is in accordance with the OECD Recommendation on Common Approaches for Export Credit Agencies (ECAs).
